Frequently Asked Questions

Am I suitable for tele psychiatry?

You must be at least 21 years old, be able to access the internet, and have a device compatible with video conferencing software.

You are not suitable if you have any of the mentioned conditions we do not treat unless they are inactive at the time of treatment.

You cannot be suicidal, or actively hallucinating.

There are other factors as well which may make you unsuitable for telepsychiatry.

What is your policy on Controlled Substances?

We will prescribe benzodiazepines (Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, etc.) on a case-by-case basis, and for a limited time period.

If you are currently being prescribed a controlled substance such as a benzodiazepine (Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Ativan, etc.) or a stimulant (Adderall, Vyvanse, Concerta, Ritalin, etc.), it is not guaranteed Dr. Doddapaneni will continue prescribing it for you.

If you are currently being prescribed a controlled substance, we recommend discussing your long-term plan of use with your current prescribing provider.

Do you accept insurance?

We currently accept Aetna, Cigna, Optum, United Health Care and Medicare, and are adding additional panels in the future.

If we do not accept your insurance, or you do not have insurance, we offer affordable self-pay rates and can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

How much are your self-pay fees?

Initial visit: $350

Follow-up visit: $150-$180

Payment must be made when an appointment is scheduled.

We accept most major credit cards.

What if I have to cancel or miss an appointment?

We require at least 48-hour notice when cancelling an appointment.

If you miss an appointment without notice, you will be charged a no-show fee.

What if I need a prior authorization for medications?

Sometimes insurance companies will refuse to cover a recommended medication and will request prior authorization to cover it.

Frequently, they will ask for “additional information” or deny the medication on some technicality, which requires additional phone calls. Because of this time-consuming process, there will be a fee of $50 per prior authorization

What if I need paperwork completed?

There is a minimum fee of $75 for requested paperwork to be done.

We do not do disability application paperwork or evaluations.
